Crashed Warhound

Stage 1

This model was bought from ebay as incomplete. It turned out to be missing the ring that fits on the bottom of the torso and forms a hole for the legs to fit into. I bought it with the idea of converting it into a crashed titan for use as an objective marker. There was no paint or glue residue to strip so I just got straight into modelling. I started by sticking the two bits of stone to a thin titan base, then building up a good layer of milliput all over.

Next the torso and legs of the Warhound were pressed into the milliput in a suitably broken pose. I needed to do some careful bending of the legs to get them to lay right. Once the basic pose was established I glued the two plasma gun arms into place, then it was onto building up the milliput base in places to look like the titan had really ploughed into the ground when it fell over.

Once all the glue bonds were good and dry it was time to get out the green stuff and some bits of wire and plastic rod. I needed to model the tread onto the bottom of the right foot, as this detail isn't modelled on the stock Warhound seeing as you don't see it normally. The weapon arms and the points where they attach to the torso needed some modelling to make it look like they had been torn away from the body by the impact of the fall.

rear
As well as what you can see in the picture I have put some more fine detail into the areas where the ground has been churned up by the falling titan. All thats left to do is to cover the base in fine modelling sand, undercoat the whole thing and paint it.
